Rehabilitated Drug Addicts Returns to Community

The first forty seven drug addicts have returned to community, 28 of whom have come back home to lead a new life upon successful rehabilitation in late December.

“I received compulsory treatment at Rehabilitation Center No.2 in Lam Dong province, which helped me completely break with dangerous substances, recognizing the value of my life. I decided to work in the center in order to help other addicts as well as to create my new life.” C.X.V, an ex- drug user, said in the welcome ceremony.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has made all the necessary preparations to welcome rehabilitated drug users to community, said Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Tai.

He stressed that governments at all levels and grassroots organizations actively help the rehabilitated addicts to overcome problems in their life and work, so that they will not be discriminated against in employment or admission to higher education.

Businesses, social and charitable organizations are encouraged to employ rehabilitated drug users, aiming at educating and saving addicts from ruin.

Former drugs users can work and live in Nhi Xuan Industrial Complex in Hoc Mon District and Phu Van Settlement in Binh Phuoc Province.

Hopefully, there would be more enterprises and safe place for rehabilitated drug addicts.
