Rok donates US$1 million to aid victims of Typhoon Damrey

The Republic of Korea (RoK) will provide a grant of US$1 million to Vietnam to assist typhoon Damrey recovery efforts, the South Korean Embassy in Hanoi, announced on November 10.

The South Korean government expresses its sincere consolation to the people of Vietnam over the typhoon damage and hopes for their prompt return to normal as well as recovery of the damage," the RoK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
South Korea also plans to expand its humanitarian aid to other countries that are affected by natural disasters, it also said.
Typhoon Damrey, the 12th major storm to hit Vietnam this year, killed 82 people, left 26 missing and destroyed more than 120,500 houses in the central and south-central regions.
