Russian Ambassador says farewell to city leader

Russian Ambassador in Vietnam Andrey G. Kovtun was warmly welcomed by Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Le Thanh Hai in Hanoi yesterday, on the occasion of the ambassador’s farewell meeting with city’s leaders after his working term in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Secretary Le Thanh Hai appreciated the ambassador’s outstanding valuable contributions, achievements in promoting sustainable friendship relations between the two countries, especially, after Vietnam and Russia agreed to elevate their bilateral relations to comprehensive strategic partnership.

In the recent years, Russia’s cities have promoted cooperative programs with Vietnam, in general, and Ho Chi Minh City, in particular, in the fields of tourist and trade. Especially, the number of Russian tourists to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City sharply increases, bringing many tourist cooperative opportunities.

The Secretary hoped that after his working term in Vietnam Mr. Andrey G. Kovtun would continue activities promoting further the sustainable cooperation between the two countries in the upcoming times.

On this occasion, the Russian ambassador sent thanks to the Vietnamese people, city leaders for their good emotions when he worked in Vietnam.

During my working term in Vietnam, I had witnessed strong development of Vietnam, esp. Ho Chi Minh City, added ambassador Andrey G. Kovtun.
