Russian President Pleased with Viet Nam-Russia Ties

President Vladimir Putin said on December 11 he was pleased at the increased ties between Russia and Viet Nam , a reliable and prospective partner of Russia in Asia and the Pacific.

Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet (4th, R) and Russian President V.Putin (3rd,L) take part in the inauguration ceremony of the first Vietnamese-Russian joint venture bank in Nov 2006.

“I sincerely wish Vietnamese friends to reap more achievements in socio-economic development and in consolidating their position in international arena,” he said.

The Russian leader was receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Bui Dinh Dinh who had presented his letter of credential to him.

High-ranking talks between Viet Nam and Russia in Ha Noi in November 2006 and in Moscow in September this year proved Russia ’s determination to attach importance to developing the strategic partnership between the two countries, making it more effective, he stressed.

The Vietnamese diplomat wished Russia to continue reaping fruitful achievements in all sectors and further contribute to peace and development in the world
