Representative of Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper gives presents to soldiers in the 729 station

On Sunday, a charity delegation comprised of the Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Television, the Cong An Newspaper and the Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute, visited the Ia Mor and Ia Puch communes in the central highlands province of Gia Lai, to offer good will gifts for Tet and provide free medical supplies and treatment for local residents there.

Doctors from the Institute treated 200 residents in the Ia Mor Commune, while gifts and scholarships worth VND100, 000 were given out to 50 pupils from ethnic minorities at Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School.

In addition, 125 families in the top welfare bracket received presents worth VND150, 000 each.

Younger members in the delegation took part in a cultural exchange with soldiers at stations 729 and 731, where they presented the troops with musical instruments, DVD recorders, cookies and roasted watermelon seeds for the Tet holiday (Lunar New Year).

Later in the day, the delegation arrived in Ia Puch, where they continued their mission.

After giving another 50 pupils scholarships there, the team provided VND3,100,000 for another 31 underprivileged children.
