State toll stations across the country will discontinue collection of toll fees from January 1 next year, when the road maintenance fee comes into effect, announced the Ministry of Transport on December 11.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hong Truong said the ministry has prepared a list of all the toll stations that will discontinue charging a toll fee once the road maintenance fee comes into effect.
Out of the 57 toll stations along highways right now, 12 stations currently collecting a toll fee will have to discontinue.
