Storm blows in over coastal regions

The National Hydro-Meteorological Forecast Center said July 3 that Tropical Storm Goni, Vietnam’s sixth storm of the year, has affected coastal areas from the central province of Binh Thuan to the Mekong delta province of Ca Mau.

The storm was generating winds of up to 74 kilometers per hour near the eye and creating gusts of force 8 and rough seas.

Currently, the storm is about 360 kilometers south-southeast of Hong Kong (China).

Another tropical depression, east of the Philippines, may turn into a stronger storm. Its formation has made it difficult for forecasters to predict the path of Goni.
