Story Contest Reveals Vitality of Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example

To celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 118th birthday May 19, many activities to promote the Ho Chi Minh’s moral example will take place nationwide.

Ho Chi Minh City will organize a city-level contest called “Tell stories about Uncle Ho’s Moral Example.” The first round is scheduled for May 20. Report from the Department of Propaganda and Training of the city’s Party Committee.

The Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry yesterday launched a story writing contest entitled “Follow Uncle Ho’s Moral Example” for employees and party members who are working for the Ministry-managed bodies. The contest introduces examples of initiatives and technical innovations in savings, anti-embezzlement and waste.

The city’s Department of Culture and Information has launched a movement to encourage employers and employees to practice patriotism in Uncle Ho’s honor.

In Ha Noi, an exhibition of popularized pictures opened with a similar theme. It will last until May 20. Eighty six out of 800 works made by 325 artists are exhibited.

On the same day, there was a ceremony at Kim Lien Junior Highschool in Ha Noi when the school received a case of books urging students to “Follow Uncle Ho’s Example.” A program to donate bookcases to primary and Junior highschools all over the country is sponsored by Kim Dong Publishing House, FPT Corporation, Long Minh Culture and Education Company and the Vietchess Company. In the first phase of the program, one hundred schools in Ha Noi will be provided with the bookcases at a total cost of more than VND100 million (US$6,000).
