Thousands of people return hometown on National Day

Thousands of people yesterday hurried up leaving from Ho Chi Minh City to return to their hometown for enjoying the National Day, causing serious traffic jam in many gateways.

Yesterday evening, around 54.000 - 55.000 people flocked to the Western Region Bus Station to return to their hometown.

The officials and working laborers have four days off on the occasion of National day this year. As this reason, they have chosen to take four day trip back their hometown mostly by bus. Representative of the Eastern Region Bus Station said that the number of arrivals to the station increased two percent compared to the same period last year.

On September 2, around 95,000 to 100,000 passengers are expected to travel to Cat Lai Ferry, district 2. 

Meanwhile, a number of others have chosen aviation for travelling this vacation, causing also serious traffic jams in some routes heading to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
