Traffic accidents kill 19 people in first day of National Holidays

The National Traffic Safety Committee announced 31 traffic accidents nationwide yesterday killed 19 people and injured 12 others in the first day of the National Holiday.

The committee’s hotline has received calls and message complaining traffic order and safety especially traffic snarls in some roads in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and national highways as well as information of violations.
Traffic patrols handled 6,328 violations collecting more than VND4 billion ($171,588), seizing over 1,000 vehicles and papers of violators. Additionally, 195 drivers faced revocation of license certificates.
Streets Pham Van Dong, Giai Phong and Nguyen Xien and bus stations Giap Bat and Nuoc Ngam in Hanoi are congested; traffic policemen worked relentlessly to solve prolonged gridlocks.
