Traffic jam on National Highways across Southern provinces waiting for solutions

The Ministry of Transport responded to the people's petition on the current traffic problems on August 22.

N2 Road, National Highway 1A and 62 across Long An province need capital investment for traffic infrastructure because the extreme traffic congestion frequently occurs in the routes. 

In particular, National Highway 1A passing through Long An province was planned to expansion investment with its scale of four lanes for motorized vehicles and two mixed lanes.

The Ministry of Transport continues carrying out investment and expansion construction for additional road across Tan An city as well as completing investment procedures to start the construction of Tan An bridge on this highway.

Investment and expansion projects of N1 and N2 Roads through Long An province are expected to put into the medium-term public investment plan for the period of 2021-2025. 

Besides that, the ministry also study supplement planning of Ho Chi Minh City, Long An and Tien Giang to connect Ho Chi Minh City and  Trung Luong T-junction into the national road traffic development plan.

The Ministry of Transport is urgently carrying out preparation of investment projects in the package of VND 7,000 billion from reserve fund of the central budget for the period of 2016-2020 to improve and upgrade the railway infrastructure. 

The Ministry will continue directing the functional authorities to review the intersection junctions between roads and railways to coordinate with localities to add speed humps and sign installation to limit or narrow residents’ paths.
