Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tai wished the Cambodian people to gain greater achievement in their national building and development.

He expressed his hope that the traditional friendship and solidarity between the peoples of Viet Nam and Cambodia would be heightened.

“Vietnamese and Cambodian leaders always attach great importance to the fine neighboring relationship and comprehensive ties between Viet Nam and Cambodia. Established in 1999, the close ties between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh have also been strengthened and vigorously developed, with many cooperative projects in the fields of trade, healthcare, agriculture, education and training which benefit the peoples of both cities. The municipal authority, Party and people will always bear this in mind,” he said.

For his part, the Cambodian Consul General in HCMC, Mr. Luong Kimkhuon, thanked the Vietnamese government, Party and people in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular for organizing such a solemn ceremony.

He also wished Viet Nam well in achieving greater socio-economic progress in the future.
