Viet Nam is eager to provide those Swiss businesses investing in Viet Nam, Asia's second fastest growing economy, with extremely favorable conditions, PM Nguyen Tan Dung said.

The government leader also stated his wish that Switzerland continue to provide official development assistance to Viet Nam, particularly in areas of education and training and was keen to highlight his administration’s continuing commitment to wipe out corruption.

Briefing the Swiss guest on Viet Nam’s socio-economic situation, the PM said Viet Nam may reach an economic growth rate of over 8% in 2007, and that the country is now a WTO member and a market economy.

Minister Leuthard said that recent economic reforms instituted by Viet Nam prove that the country is on the right track for development and has given the reforms her full government support.

Bilateral trade turnover between the two countries has recently surged to US$1.5 billion with Swiss firms so far pouring a total of US$750 million into the country.
