Vietnam commemorates October Revolution

The 91st anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (Nov. 7, 1917) was observed with a series of activities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on Nov 8th.


At the Lenin Park in Ha Noi, a delegration including the Ha Noi Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front attended the Russia October Revolution ceremony.

Pham Quang Nghi, member of the Party Committee and Municipal Party Committee Secretary laid wreaths at the Lenin statue in Ha Noi to celecrate the 91st anniversary of the Russia October Revolution.

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship organizations organized a meeting to mark the event.

Attending the meeting were the Consul General of Russia in Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Thanh Long, the chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front and many government officials who had studied and worked in Russia.

The Chairman of Viet Nam- Russia Friendship Union, Hoang Huu Nghia, said it was great honour for Vietnamese people to beat the drum during a meeting marking the Russia October Revolution.

“We would like to thank to the revolution, when for the first time in the history of humankind, working people who had been enslaved for thousands of years became free people, owners of their own countries. Many changes have taken place in the world" he said.
