Depression brings rain & thunderstorm in south

This morning, a tropical low pressure was positioned at 150 kilometers of the Phu Quy Island of Binh Thuan province, reported the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.

Tropical low pressure moves west southwestwards in the East Sea.

Its eye was at 9.4 degrees north latitude and 108.2 degrees east longitude at 1am today.

Within next 12 hours, the tropical depression is going to continue moving west southwestwards at 10- 15 kilometers per hour.

Today, the territorial waters from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau and Phu Quy Island experience rainy weather, thunderstorm and powerful wind of level 6-7 because of an impact from its circulation. The highest rainfall reaches at 50- 100 mm.

Medium- heavy rains and thunderstorms are forecast to cover the provinces from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan until next couple days.

By evening today, it will be centered at around 120 kilometers west southwest of the Con Dao Island.

Additionally, the northern territorial water of the East Sea will experience the northeast monsoon of level 6-7, big wave of 2- 2.5 meters and sea rough due to cold weather.

Amid the bad weather, the Central Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention asked localities from Da Nang to Kien Giang need to eye position of the depression as well as instruct fishing vessels run out off the damaged zones.
