HCMC actively deals with coming high tide

According to a forecast from the Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center of the Southern region, the highest water levels at Phu An station in the Saigon River and Nha Be station in Dong Dien canal are expected to peak 1.65- 1.70 meters exceeding warning level 3 by 0.15 meter to 0.20 meter from September 30 to October 1.

Relevant agencies and localities are recommended to install warning signs at flood-hit- roads due to high tides, and arrange functional forces to instruct people to move to safe areas.

Besides that, districts need to regularly inform on the media about the happenings of the tide and the detailed time when the tides would reach peak for residents to actively cope with tide-triggered flooding by preparing materials such as timber piles, B40 net, canvas, bags of soil, sand, etc.
