Northern region adopts measures against damaging cold

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center has just issued the latest warnings of a prolonged cold wave for the whole country until next week.

As forecast, the Southern region including Ho Chi Minh City will continue suffering chilly temperature between 20 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius. 

The cold spell has intensified to blanket the whole Northern and North- Central provinces, causing temperatures drop to 9-13 degrees Celsius and even 1-4 degrees Celsius in the mountainous areas.  

The phenomenon weather of deep freeze and hoarfrost influenced in livestock and plants. Currently, the cold mass air is moving from the center of the Asian continent to the southward.

The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control warned of low humidity impact on health of people, triggering the high risk of forest fire under the weather condition of dry weather without rain as currently. 

The powerful operation of the Northeast monsoon is expected to cause damage to vessels and ships.

Amid the ongoing weather condition, Northern mountainous provinces are recommended to adopt measures against the prolonged cold wave, and the coastal areas also need to keep close eyes on strong winds.
