Cold weather covered the northern region with the highest temperature at 23- 25 degrees Celsius in Hanoi and Hai Phong, and at 18- 20 degrees Celsius in Ha Giang and Cao Bang yesterday.
The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center announced: "At present, a new cold front is going to head towards the northern and central region, causing heavy rains on the large scale".
Heavy rains yesterday swept through the central provinces; according to forecast weather, water level on local rivers from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will raise high, causing appearance of flash flood and landslide.
The northern mountainous region also will experience medium to heavy rains on the large scale. Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces are predicted to face flash flood.
Deep cloud, sunny weather daytime and heavy rains at night are the weather condition in the area of Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region at the weekend.
