Three dead, one missing when Typhoon Kujira lands on Vietnam

The tropical storm hit the northern part of the country yesterday, killing two, injuring two, and leaving one missing in the Northern Province of Son La.

One person died in Hai Phong City and another was wounded in Nghe An Province in the wake of the powerful storm.

Heavy rain from Typhoon Kujira caused water levels in rivers in mountainous Son La Province to raise yesterday. Many houses and crop fields were damaged or swept away by flash floods, which also caused extensive damage to provincial infrastructure projects.

The provincial authorities banned all vessels from going out to sea and asked residents to move aquaculture cages. Vietjet Air also cancelled 2 flights and changed routes of 4 flights. The airline proposed supporting passengers who are affected by the changed routes and delay.
