Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant opens one sluice gate

Because heavy rainfall and a huge water volume were pouring the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant in the previous days, the reservoir management board has decided to open one sluice gate to discharge water with a volume of 1,230 cubic meters per second.

This morning, water level at the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant and in the downstream river were respectively measured at 120 meters, 49. 93 meters cubic per second.

Meanwhile, water volume pouring the reservoir reached at 998 cubic meters per second; and the water discharge out of the plant was 571 cubic meters per second. 
To ensure reservoir safety, the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant decided to open one sluice gate at 2pm today.

Amid to the current complicated weather, the provincial steering committee on natural disaster asked steering committees on natural disaster, rescue and research of cities, districts, communes and towns to actively carry out measures dealing with heavy rain and flooding occurrence, timely take local people out of the dangerous area, and protect dyke systems along rivers and sea. 

The locality also required the people’s committees of cities and districts to eye the current weather condition.
