Typhoon Kalmaegi enters East Sea

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center yesterday issued a warning of typhoon Kalmaegi moving from the northeastern part of the Philippines’s Luzon Island to the East Sea towards Vietnam.

Yesterday afternoon, the eye of typhoon Kalmaegi was centered at around 19.3 degrees north latitude and 122.5 degrees east longitude at its speed of 100- 115 kilometers an hour. 

In the next 24- 36 hours, Kalmaegi is forecast to move southwestward at 10- 30 kilometers per hour, and then it is expected to weaken a tropical depression and a low pressure zone respectively. 

On the same day, the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control also sent a public telegraph to provinces from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa in order to ask preparedness and necessary measures dealing with the storm and the northeast monsoon.
