Weather forecaster warns flooding in Dong Nai River, high tide

The Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, Search, and Rescue said that from November 19 to 24, it is likely to have flood in Dong Nai River.

As a result, the floodwater may rise to alarming levels two or higher while water level in small rivers will exceed the third warning level. Accordingly, to minimize losses and damages, the committee asked to tighten control at river gates banning tourism boats and fishing boats to leave.
Additionally, it warned people not to go out in heavy rain and strong wind as well as proposed local authorities to support locals in repairing houses. People should be alert for fallen trees in streets also.
As per the Southern Center for Hydro-Meteorology Forecasting, in next five days, river water level in Phu An station in Sai Gon River will exceed the third-stage warning by 1. 5 meter from November 19 60 22.
To actively prevent bad consequences of low tropical depression causing heavy rain, tornado and rising river water, the committee warned people to be aware of tide especially these basins such as districts 12 , Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Cu Chi, Binh Chanh and Hoc Mon
