Budget Rent A Car, one of the world’s best-known car rental companies, rolled into the Vietnamese market last week, becoming the country’s first international standard car rental service.
In the beginning, the company pays more attention to hotels and Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. Its vehicles, complete with chauffeurs, was made available at the airport and hotels beginning last Tuesday.
“We are confident there is substantial demand for high quality car rental here,” Dan Cohen, Budget Viet Nam’s general manager, said in a statement. “Google receives the key phrase ‘car rental Vietnam’ at least 250 times per day. Not only does Budget fill that glaring need, but it does so in a comforting fashion. Everyone who’s been overseas knows the name, Budget, and what it represents,” he said.

Budget says it will provide customers in Viet Nam with a well-trained native driver who will function as a traveling concierge, with strong English-language skills and knowledge of the immediate region.
