112 outstanding intellectuals contributing to Vietnam’s development

At its press brief lately, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has announced its program to honor 112 outstanding intellectuals who have greatly contributed to the country’s industrialization and modernization process implemented by VUSTA from 2015.

The factors which facilitated and accelerated the process of modernization are the achievements in the field of science and technology, rapid growth of industrialization and urbanization, the rationalization of social life, the emergence of a rational outlook in every walk of life.
Speaking at the press brief, VUSTA’s Deputy Chairman Pham Van Tan said the honoring ceremony helps to well implement the government’s and the Party’s policies as well as show the government and the Party’s recognition to intellectuals who have contributed greatly to the country’s technology development.
He added such ceremony is organized once every two years to honor outstanding individuals in VUSTA branches at least five years who have scientific researches applied in reality.
Moreover, it helps to improve agencies and the society’s awareness of role and position of intellectual teams at every stage of the country’s development, Mr. Tan said.
