27,000 Youths Trained on Using Computer

A program to train computer skills for the youth in Vietnam will begin on June 2, 2006 in Da Nang City, said Mr. Tran Quoc Huy, deputy chairman of the Viet Nam’s Youth Union.

Nearly 27,000 youths aging 13 years and older will be trained on computer skills by 2,700 university, college students who have good IT skill.

The youths come from 270 communes of nine provinces and cities, including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Can Tho, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and Dong Nai.

The program aims to train 810 youths as computer officials at the communes, while encouraging internet usage nationwide.
