Construction of the Vietnam Universe Center has just been kicked off at the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park in Hanoi on September 19 by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
Covering an area of nine hectares, the Center is part of a project ‘Strategy on Research and Application of Universal Technology by 2020’. To complete the project, an investment capital of US$700 million will be provided from Japan’s ODA fund and the rest will come from Vietnam's corresponding fund.
Vietnam Universe Center will produce, assemble and test small satellites for earth observation and the whole of Vietnam and also process satellite data to issue early warnings of natural disasters.
Vietnam Universe Center is expected to be fully complete by 2020.
