Mr. To Manh Cuong, borned in 1967 in Hanoi, entered the post and telecommunications industry in 1989 as an information technology engineer in VNPT Hanoi. After holding various positions like head of the telecommunications department and deputy director of Hanoi Post Office, he became the head of the telecommunications department of VNPT in 2008. Two years later, he was assigned the position of deputy general director of VNPT before accepting this new role in Mobifone this year.

MobiFone used to be ranked one of the national leaders in the telecommunications industry, accounting for 40 percent of VNPT’s comprehensive revenues and 70 percent of its profits.

However, after a series of incidents, especially the AVG case, Mobifone has lost its fame.

Taking the role of Mobifone’s general director, Mr. Cuong has a tough challenge to use his vision and make up wise decisions so that the company can regain its prestigious status.

At present, Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang is the chairman of Mobifone’s Board Members, replacing Mr. Le Nam Tra from June 2017.
