Three scientists win Ta Quang Buu Prize in 2016

The Ministry of Science and Technology yesterday held a ceremony to give the 2016Ta Quang Buu prize  to three scientists in Hanoi.

Three awardees included Professor Nguyen Van Hieu from International Training Institute for Materials Science (ITIMS) under the Poly-Technique University Hanoi; Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh from the Nature University and Dr. Phung Van Dong from the Institute Vietnam Academy of  Science and Technology.

The annual prize named after Vietnamese scientist Ta Quang Buu who built basic of Vietnamese defence technology  aims to encourage and honor scientists who have outstanding achievements in basic researches of natural sciences and technique contributing to promoting scientific research in general and pave the way for Vietnam’s science progress in particular.

This is the third year the prize had been given to Vietnamese scientists.

Each prize is worth VND200 million (US$ 8,986) for a excellent project and VND50 million for young scientist.
