Viet Nam's Internet Provider Opens Links to US

The Viet Nam Data Communication Company (VDC), the country's largest Internet provider, has clinched a deal with the American company MCI for two Internet net links, each of 155 Megabytes per second speed (Mbps), to the US.

The links, which are part of a project to improve VDC's internet linkage, will help increase VDC's international bandwidth to 3.5 Gbps.

The company is upgrading its infrastructure to provide not only internet and email access but also online music and movie services. It also plans to expand its bandwidth to 6 Gbps by the end of this year.
