The conferring ceremony of the 5th Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Award (APICTA) contest was held in Khum Khantoke Resort, Chiangmai, Thailand, on February 19, 2006.
There were 164 ICT (Information and Communication Technology) products of fourteen countries in the contest. APICTA heightens the ICT awareness of Asia Pacific nations, honors the highly applicable ICT products of the countries in the area.
APICTA also enhances cooperation, economic and trading exchanges and technological transfer among Asia Pacific nations, and offers a lot of trading opportunities for businesses.
The gold cup of the contest finally went for the “Communicative Signs Dictionary for the Deaf” offered by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, one of the nine products of Viet Nam’s team, topping the APICTA list of 15 awards this year.
