Viettel expects to have 26 million customers on its ecosystem

Vietnam's military-run telecom group Viettel yesterday officially launched the Viettel Digital Services Corporation (VDS), a technology company focusing on digital finance and data service, with the goal to have 26 million customers on its ecosystem and 600,000 payment acceptance and services venues by 2025.

With the goal of “Originating digital life”, VDS focuses on three major fields including digital financial sector, the data service sector, credit, insurance and e-commerce.
Especially, Viettel plans to expand its services to all areas nationwide in all fields through mobile phones. Mobile Money would remove the technology gap to help people in rural and remote areas access to traditional financial services. This was expected to be a catalyst for the boom of the digital revolution in Vietnam.
Additionally, digital –commercial financial platform will help connect enterprises and enterprises; enterprises- clients.
Digital Viettel promised to accompany with enterprises and startup communities in the way of creating a cashless society and becoming a significant factors in the nation’s finance payment infrastructure.
Once, all Vietnamese people have a mobile phone, implementation of Mobile Money will be conducted countrywide to protect local market from foreign companies’ domination.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, acting chairman cum general director of Viettel Group Le Dang Dung said VDS provides significant solutions in its ecosystem including digital transformation and financial services with vision to e-commerce in the digital platform with Mobile Money.
