Anh Vien to receive “special award” at SEA Games 30 closing ceremony

According to a report of General Secretary of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Tran Van Manh, Vietnamese swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien will receive an award for athlete who secured the most gold SEA Games 30 medals at the Southeast Asian Games closing ceremony.

By December 9, the Vietnamese swimming star bagged six gold medals to be on the top of gold SEA Games 30 winners, exceeding Singaporean swimmer Schooling with his achievement of three gold medals.

In term of swimming, the Vietnam team achieved eight gold, five silver and six bronze medals, ranking the second while Singapore dominated with 14 gold, six silver and three bronze medals.

The ceremony will take place at New Clark City in Philippines in the evening of December 11.

At the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the 23-year-old athlete secured the gold medals in the women’s 400-m- individual medley (in 4 minutes, 47.85 seconds), 400m freestyle (in 4 minutes, 13.20 seconds), 200m backstroke (in 2 minutes, 15.32 seconds), 200m freestyle (with a victory of 2 minutes, 00.75 seconds), 200m individual medley (in 2 minutes, 15.51 seconds), 100m backstroke (with a result of 1 minutes, 2.97 seconds) finals respectively.
Additionally, she also bagged two silver medals in the women’s 50- meter- backstroke with a victory of 29.64 seconds, the women’s 800- meter-freestyle finals with a result of 8 minutes 48.65 seconds.
