Vietnam secures five Taekwondo, Karatedo, Muay gold medals

In the eight competition day of SEA Games 30, Vietnamese Taekwondo, Karatedo and Muay athletes earned five gold medals.

Two gold medals were thanks to Pham Thi Thu Hien in the women’s 62-kilogram- finals and Bac Thi Khiem in the women’s 67- kg- taekwondo.

At this time, Vietnam bagged four gold SEA Games taekwondo medals, doubling two- year ago- ever achievement. 

Addtional two gold medals were victories for Vietnamese karatedo team including Le Thi Khanh Vy, Nguyen Thi Phuong and Luu Thi Thu Uyen in the women’s kata finals, and Nguyen Thanh Duy in the men’s under 60-kg- karatedo.

One more gold medal belonged to Muay athlete Bui Yen Ly in the women’s 54-kg- finals after she defeated 30-27 against Philippines.
