This is part of the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 Asian Cup joint qualifiers.

Coach Toshiya Miura is likely to call strikers Le Van Thang of Can Tho and Nguyen Anh Duc of Becamex Binh Duong for the match.

As scheduled, Vietnam will host Iraq on October 10 before playing Thailand on October 13 in the qualifiers.

Earlier, Vietnam defeated Chinese Taipei 2-1 at the Municipal Stadium in Chinese Taipei, raising its hopes of winning a berth in Group F of the World Cup 2018.
