Vietnamese chess star Tu Hoang Thong won the blitz chess section of the Australian Chess Championships, which ran from January 2-11.

The tournament, held in the state of Victoria, was fought between 102 chess players across the globe.

International Grandmaster Thong won first prize in blitz chess and finished third in the standard chess section.-VNA
