Viettel launches first 5G network in Myanmar

Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) officially launched the 5G technology in Myanmar on August 5 via Mytel, its Myanmar’s branch name.

Czech Republic, Myanmar boost economic ties

Trade cooperation between the Czech Republic and Myanmar is being fortified, particularly via a recent visit to  the European country by State Counsellor of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi from June 2 – 4 at the invitation Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.

Myanmar willing to take back all Rohingya refugees

Myanmar’s National Security Advisor Thaung Tun said the country is willing to take back all 700,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees who have fled to Bangladesh due to violence if they volunteer to return. 
Mytel has been working for a long time, but it has not been officially launched.

Viettel to launch service in Myanmar

The Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) announced on May 27 that it would formally launch its mobile network service named Mytel in Myanmar next month. This is the tenth international market and the most crowded one that Viettel has ever invested into, with the population of nearly 53 million people.

UN concerned about violence in western Myanmar

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has warned of a looming humanitarian catastrophe in western Myanmar due to recent violent conflicts in Rakhine state that forced 18,500 to evacuate to Bangladesh and left more than 100 dead.
