The Southern Economic Region includes eight localities of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Long An, Tien Giang and Tay Ninh. This region currently contributes upto 45% towards GDP of the country, of which Ho Chi Minh City contributes 51% of the GDP of the Southern Economic Region.
