An Bình Islet and Ly Son Islands in the central province of Quang Ngai are moving to go green after the provincial People’s Committee and Vietnamese and South Korean enterprises yesterday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build the two as non-carbon sites.
Chairman of Quang Ngai provincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Cang has issued Document 7515 requiring the Department of Construction to work with Ly Son island district authorities and agencies to urgently study and assess documents of Sea Eyes project immediately after the investor proposed to build the huge urban area in 2018.
The central province of Quang Ngai has allocated funds of 42 billion VND (1.83 million USD) to support ecosystem recovery and biodiversity supervision as well as strengthening the protection of the Ly Son Marine Protected Area (MPA) for the 2018-22 period.
