HCMC make plans to give directions on resolving backlogs including infrastructural issues in the three districts of Ho Chi Minh City planned to merge into the new Thu Duc City - District 2, District 9 and Thu Duc District.
Deputies to the National Assembly yesterday had a meeting with citizens in District 2 and Thu Duc District of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to address current problems in these areas and explain in detail corresponding solutions of the authorities, with a particular stress on infrastructure investment
Building Thu Thiem New Urban Area and a regional financial center contributes to the development of the highly interactive innovative urban area in the east of HCMC which is expected to become the creative core of the city, said Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan at the 6th Congress of District 2’s Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure on August 11.
Ho Chi Minh City has decided to convert some 20,000 square metres of public land into residential land to resettle nearly 200 households in the Thu Thiem new urban area whose lands it wrongfully took over.
Ho Chi Minh City’s administration has approved a policy of compensation and resettlement for households in a 4.3ha area located outside the original boundary of the Thu Thiem new urban area project in the city’s District 2.
Ho Chi Minh City is completing the project of establishing and developing the highly interactive innovation district in the East of the city in the direction of turning this place to become a new driving force for economic development in the fourth industrial revolution, thereby promoting the city's economy to grow quickly and sustainably and continue to contribute positively to the country's economic development.
Ho Chi Minh City authorities have organized many meetings with residents, whose land locates in the 4.39 hectare area outside the approved boundary of Thu Thiem new urban area in District 2, and basically agreed with an additional compensation plan for these residents, said Politburo Member, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation in the city Nguyen Thien Nhan on May 16.
Ho Chi Minh City broke ground on 13 big traffic projects with total investment of VND 3,500 billion (US$ 150 million) yesterday, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority Luong Minh Phuc said.
The HCMC’s government expects to receive VND22,000 billion (US$990 million) from the auction of 55 land lots covering on an area of 793,089.6 m2 in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2.
The People’s Committee of HCMC has suggested the Government to allow the city to delegate investors to make adjustment of projects in Thu Thiem New Urban Area that will be submitted for assessment while waiting for results from the State Audit Office of Vietnam.
