60 percent of cultivation area in HCMC gets VietGAP certificate

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, up to now, 1,354 organizations and individuals with a total cultivation area of 1,728 hectares, or 12,313 hectares of the growing area of vegetables and fruits, in suburb districts have received the VietGAP certificate, accounting for more than 60 percent of the total growing area in the city with an annual production of 212,098 tons.

Agriculture applies science-technology for sustainable development

More than 70 percent of the Vietnamese population is working in the agricultural sector, yet they contribute only around 20 percent of the GDP. Therefore, to raise the revenue of this mass sector, beside taking full advantage of the integration process, new technologies must be applied more widely in the whole nation.

Third safe farm produce fair opened in HCMC

The third safe farm produce fair was opened at Le Thi Rieng Park, District 10 yesterday by the HCMC Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, selling clear origin products meeting VietGap and GlobalGap quality standards.
