Vietnam Railways will officially launch a mobile ticketing app on July 5 to help passengers buy train tickets easily by using their mobile phone, ipad and tablet.

In order to meet increasing travelling demand of passengers on holidays for National Day (on September 2), the Vietnam Railways planned to increase additional 53 trains on routes connecting Sai Gon and Quang Ngai/ Nha Trang/ Quy Nhon/ Da Nang/ Phan Thiet, Hanoi and Lao Cai/Vinh/ Hai Phong/ Dong Dang/ Dong Hoi from August 29 to September 2.

Railway resumption put off until November 15

North South Railway resumption in Ca Mountain Pass has been put off until November 15 instead of November 9 as per the plan because high and dangerous terrain have slowed down the railroad repair, said Vietnam Railways yesterday.
