Rain yesterday stopped and floodwater level in rivers gradually receded to under alert level 2 in most of localities across the Central region, where people have been reparing consequences in the aftermath of typhoon Matmo.
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and low-cost airlines such as Jetstar Pacific and Vietjet Air yesterday planned to cancel and temporarily delay some domestic flights from and to Nha Trang, Phu Yen, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot, Da Nang, Da Lat due to an influence of typhoon Matmo hitting the South- Central region.
Newly- formed typhoon Matmo has weakened into a tropical low pressure system after hitting the South-Central region of Vietnam last night, according to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.
Typhoon Matmo, which was centered in the coastal waters in the South-Central region at 8pm on October 30, has started unleashing heavy rain in some areas.
