Central region copes with flooding in aftermath of typhoon

Typhoon Nakri--the sixth storm affected Vietnam this year has caused heavy rain and flooding in the South-Central region, posing a threat to many dyke routes and reservoirs which have continuously been hit by storms and flooding recently.

Typhoon Nakri weakens after barreling up Central Vietnam

After making landfall in the Central provinces of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa last night, typhoon Nakri weakened into a tropical low pressure system and a low pressure zone this morning, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.

The People’s Committee of Quang Ngai province yesterday issued an urgent dispatch to the National Committee for Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue, the Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about assistance for fishing boats and fishermen from the province to dock in the territorial waters of the Philippines to avoid typhoon Nakri.

Nakri expected to become strongest typhoon in 2019

According to the latest weather news of the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, this year’s sixth tropical storm named internationally as Nakri is likely to chug along the South- Central, East- Southern and Central Highlands regions.

Typhoon Nakri to make landfall in South- Central region of Vietnam

The hydro-meteorological forecast and warning centers in Asia-Pacific region informed that the newly- formed tropical depression in the middle of the East Sea intensified into Nakri, which is the typhoon's international name, tends to make landfall in the South- Central region of Vietnam.
