In the last few months, Ho Chi Minh City ((HCMC) has wrapped up many essential ground and water traffic projects to better serve transport demands of its residents.
With the theme “ Developing Ho Chi Minh City into a regional and international financial center”, HCMC Economic Forum 2019 was open on October 18 to find out contributors which help the city become an international financial center.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Southeast and the Mekong delta have been appealing VND633,427 billion ($27.2 billion) social contribution in the period 2016-2019 making up 40 percent of the country’s total contribution.
Inappropriate investment in traffic infrastructure has hindered economic development in the southeastern region, where has contributed nearly 40 percent to state budget.
Although traffic infrastructure has significantly developed in the Mekong Delta region for the last years but some congestions need to be cleared for traffic connectivity in the region, say transport industry leaders of provinces and cities in the country’s largest farming area.
The Department of Investment and Planning in Ho Chi Minh City basically finished the website of public-private partnership (PPP) projects which are scheduled to launch on the third quarter of the year.
