An incorporated ministries committee has proposed the Prime Minister to approve the handover of 30 million Covid-19 vaccine doses from the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) to the Ministry of Health on a non-profit basis.
The Ministry of Health must ensure the safety and efficiency of Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccination program, under the instructions of the Politburo and the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said at a meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on March 5.
Besides the Covid-19 vaccines AstraZeneca Vietnam ordered and COVAX donated, to get enough vaccine for all indicated citizens, Vietnam needs to acquire 150 doses this year, said the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health will give priority in providing 30,000 rapid diagnostic tests to the needs of HCMC, said Deputy Minister of Health at at an online meeting on February 10 between Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and HCMC’s leaders.
The Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals (IVAC), based in central Khanh Hoa province, has proposed the Ministry of Health allow human trials of its COVID-19 vaccine to begin in January, two months ahead of schedule.
The Ministry of Health in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, and the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health has just launched the music video titled "Vung Tin Vietnam" (Vietnam moving forward confidently) to bring all people together, support and encourage frontline employees during this Covid-19 pandemic.
