Typhoon Wipha makes landfall in Quang Ninh, drenching Northern Vietnam with rain

Typhon Wipha slowly moved west in the evening on August 2 and made landfall in Mong Cai city in the northern province of Quang Ninh, affecting the weather in the border area between Vietnam and China and triggering heavy rainfall in many places in the Northern region of Vietnam with Hanoi being warned of flooding inner the city, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.

According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, tropical storm Wipha was located at around 230 kilometers from Hainan Island of China with its sustained wind of 60- 90 kilometers an hour near the eye of the storm yesterday afternoon.
