Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam yesterday sent a document to the Ministry of Transport proposing to increase prices of some aviation services especially takeoff and landing during peak hours.

According to the proposal, takeoff and landing service prices will move up 15 percent compared to current level during peak hours and reduce by the same rate in off-peak hours to airports belonging to groups A and B. The cost for airports in group C will account for 60 percent of the price for group B during peak hours.
The agency also suggested a roadmap for the price hike to prevent from affecting airports’ operation and trading. Specifically, the price will surge by 5 percent from July 1 this year and continue raising 10 percent from January 1 next year.
In addition, aviation security service will soar from US$1.5 to $2 per international passenger and from VND9,090 to VND18,181 per domestic passenger.
Passenger service price will increase by VND40,000 to VND90,909 a passenger to group A airports, VND20,000 to VND72,727 to group B. It will rise to VND54,545 to group C.
