The “Canadian Flavor” program featuring mainly seafood, beef, and wine to Vietnamese diners will be held at the Sofitel Plaza Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City from September 17 to 22, according to the Canadian Consul General, William Jonhston.
The highlight of the event is the Gala Canada taking place at the hotel’s Ballroom on September 19.
“Canada has all the necessary factors—clean environment, commodious and fertile land, modern techniques, and a high quality standard of food—to become a supplier of agricultural products, food, and beverages for Viet Nam. I hope that Canadian food will become familiar to Vietnamese consumers,” said the Consul General.
It is the second time that Canadian cuisine week will take place in Viet Nam. The event was held in Ha Noi last year.
According to statistics, Canada exported US$86 million worth of agricultural products to Viet Nam in 2006.
