Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province will host a tourism and cultural festival during Tet next year.

To be held from January 22 to February 2, 2009, it will feature a spring fair, Thanksgiving celebrations, music performances and kylin-lion and dragon dances, folk games, a traditional boat race, kite flying, human chess, calligraphy and a tourist photo exhibition.
A cannon will be fired at the Loc An historical tourist site in Dat Do District on January 30 and in Vung Tau on February 2 and broadcast live on Viet Nam Television.
Organizers hope the event will attract a large number of visitors and draw investors’ attention to the region’s tourism potential.
