The Ha Noi People’s Committee has approved the construction of a new port at Bat Trang, due to be built during 2008-09 at a cost of VND15.7 billion (US$980,000 ).

City authorities have entrusted the Department of Planning And Architecture to approve the total premises area. The Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Transport & Public Works are responsible for overseeing the project.
The new port will have a 30 meter-long wharf, embankment, and support constructions and a capacity to process 200,000 passengers per year; many of which are foreign and domestic tourists visiting the 500-year-old Bat Trang ceramics village.
The City Department of Tourism has submitted a proposal to the People’s Committee to become investors in the project.
Bat Trang port will be used by some of the 150-seat boats that run ecological tours on the Red River.
